Godfrey's opened in 2012 with the idea of serving simple yet delicious fish and chips with homemade sides.We wanted to do things a little differently. We didn't want to be just another takeaway frying frozen processed food, we saw no reason why a takeaway couldn't take as much pride in its food as any restaurant. So we sourced our food carefully, prepared as much as we could ourselves and always strived to give the best possible customer service. We put the same amount of thought into how we operate as a business, serving and working with our local community, looking after our staff and the environment, and generally operating with a conscience. 12 years later nothing has changed, we're still as committed as ever to serving great fish and chips and long may it continue!Our Food
Great food cooked fresh to order
We cook all our food fresh to order – so hot and crisp fish and chips straight from the fryer.
We peel and chip our potatoes each morning which are then double cooked to give a perfect chip – fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside.
And it’s not just our fish and chips that are prepared with love – our pies are homemade, as are our mushy and minted peas, fishcakes, curry sauce and gravy; and our homemade tartare sauce is the best you’ll ever taste!
